Glastonbury

I have loads of ideas for what I will write posts about in the future, but, for my first proper post i had to pick one. I thought to myself, what better one to pick then the time when I decided to practice Wicca.
Glastonbury:
I visited Glastonbury after 2 years of researching Wicca. I figured, I like this religion, a lot, why don't I visit Glastonbury, where there is the biggest amount pagan shops in one place that I have ever seen. Although some questions did pop into my head such as, should we be materialising Wicca, a religion of nature? But, I will get into more detail about that in a later post. But, you probably want to know (you might not, I don't know! but hopefully you do :D) why this trip made me decide to practice Wicca. So, I was walking around the abbey, (yes, that is a Christian place of worship, but we gotta be inclusive) with my mum and taking photos of the pretty ruins, when a tiny girl walked right up to me, she must have been no more that 3, and held my hand and shook it. Now I don't know anything as special as tiny child you have never met before holding your hand right out of the blue, But, you might be thinking, "Well, that's cute and all but its just a one off. She probably thought you were her mum by mistake." Think again because she ran back to her parents through the ruins and I thought "Oh, that was cute" and carried on my walk. But, you might call it fate, or just being in the same area as someone, (I prefer fate), we bumped into one another again and she held my hand again for a good minute. (for a toddler of that age to stay still for a minute is a miracle and not just the story behind it!) Her mum told me she has never done that before (well, she's three, she won't have had many experience!) and my mother asked for her name, it was a pretty French name. (I won't write it here for privacy reasons, it was quite unique.) The little girl just stood by my side and looked up at me while my mum talked to her mother. (I was a little too shocked to be making polite adult conversation so I left that for my mum to handle.) She was now holding my fingers tightly. A few minutes later we said our goodbyes and parted ways.
This little anecdote is how I started practising Wicca. When I went home and thought about the trip I realised that this little girl could be a metaphor for the protection and welcome of the Goddess and God into Wicca and Paganism. To me the girl holding my hand symbolises the deities promising to protect and guide me on my path through Wicca. Her coming back to me even after she ran away is another metaphor for when I may loose my faith a little (I know we all do at some point.) it shows that Wicca is always there and will come back to me eventually. Some of you might be thinking "This is a load of 'cow poo'!" (keepin' it friendly) and to those of you who think that, it is your right to have your own opinion but to me this is very personal and special so please refrain from leaving comments about how you disagree. I know that not many people will be reading this post anyway because it is so new but to all those lovely people who took time to read this far, Thanks a bunch it means a lot to me!!
Have a lovely rest of your day and Blessed be )O(
